I picked up a load of Potatoes in Idaho and they loaded them by just dumping them via conveyor into the trailer about 2 foot deep front to back.

I delivered them in Wisconsin and the way they got them out was by flooding the trailer with water. The Potatoes wash out and the rocks and debris go to the bottom.

It left a nasty mess of potato pieces, rocks, dirt and mud (from the water) in the floor of my trailer.

My company sent me to Blue Beacon where we have an account and the bill was $362.00. $35.00 for the first 11 minutes and then $4.99 per minute after.

Ouch! Glad I wasn't paying. Lol

    Been there done that.
They unloaded mine with a bobtail from end loader.
The ones they use on construction sites.
The bucket was just the right size to fit into the trailer.

What it couldn't scoop up was smashed into the
Grooves of the trailer. From front to back.
    Total mess.
Can't remember the wash out bill, but it took
Them about an hour trying to blast those mashed
    Potatoes out of there.

Load bulk spuds by conveyor after putting down a layer of sawdust. Unload was by Bobcat bucket. Back up to the wood line and sweep out the sawdust and spud remnants. The sawdust does two things, it cushions the spuds and fills the floor grooves, making it a simple matter to just sweep it out. Some guys would use hay, but we'd always use hardwood sawdust, it worked best....

I have run many a load of bulk potatoes and easiest way to get that done is to take the broom handle that you should have in your trailer and you run it down through the grooves push it all out sweep it or hose it out out you guys got ripped off

    Wow; 76 minutes to wash-out!
I must have gotten lucky when I hauled bulk spuds. I backed onto a platform into a dock that tilted the entire tractor-trailer up to dump the spuds out. They tell you up front to make sure everything in the cab is secured, because the tractor is gonna be in the air.
Also been in a dock where they sent a hydraulic squeegee type scoop all the way to the front of the trailer to 'pull' the spuds out. Yes I'm too lazy to type potatoes.;)

They did screw around with their water hoses until I told them they were going to have to get a broom handle or something to pop the crap out of the cracks.
