Big Patti is grooming you for New York city driving. How else you'll know how to behave once there.
If you have a chance practice stop and go on a hill. Taking off is just like a car with a manual give it some gas and easy on the clutch.
You'll be fine.
Failed road test. Only have one more try. Demoralized right now

If her behavior was part of the test I'd not only consider her a bad instructor but I'd have to believe that a curriculum that allows that kind of dehumanizing behavior to be very poor indeed.
Now, if Patty was trying out for a job as a Marine Corp drill instructor and she was practicing on her driving students her behavior would make more sense.Omega7777, TripleSix and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
If what you say is true, Big Patty should not be teaching or evaluating students.
When you encounter stupidity at slow speeds, you do not engage the road rage.
If I understand your circumstances right, I would have simply stopped, and stared at the car blocking the road until he moved. If it took more than a few seconds, then turn on blinkers.
You need patience in a truck. There are times when you also have to be aggressive, but those times are when lives are at risk.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
Big Patty is a blowhard. Just imagine her "talking" to a My little Pony hood ornament.

I’ve seen a driver’s test where the instructor behaves like an arse, a money load is on the line, and your travel agent blows up your phone. Half the driver fail.
They start the test at 0800. The dispatcher soon tells the of a load 30 miles away that has to be picked up by 1500. Instructor is a hell bent prick. Every hour the travel agent blows up the phone. Half the drivers walk out.
They want to see if you can handle pressure or fall apart. I know Fatty Patti wasn’t doing the same, but if she was, she would be considered awesome. Snowflakes would tremble at the mention of her name.Last edited: Oct 19, 2018

Feed big doggie clutch until it's all out and moving, add power at that point. Smoothly. That way you don't get the nosies, bucking, hopping, jerkies and so on.
I probably will have ended up asking Sally for a Dinner Date after her lunch break started. Worse thing she can say is no. As far as the rest of it. I'm pretty sure a little bit of horse breaking will settle things down right quick. (But not too much) I find it interesting that the auto correct software is getting a little bit... ornery potentially putting me into big trouble.
HOWEVER... she is not the calm demure quiet church mice I demand my passengers to be in my trucks. There are a few people problems with this one instructor that I cannot abide. That might have something to do with the State Testing. Who knows. -
Sorry guys, you may tolerate her but I would have told her to get the hell out of the truck with that attitude, there is no excuse for it. The op needs to tell the company what happened, tell them they owe him another road test with more prep and an apology for her attitude.

Wow. I’d of been on the phone with the state so fast. No way in heck that goes. I hope you call the Capital and start lodging complaints. Write some letters up and mail them out as well. Let elected officials know what happend and how upset you are.
One thing i’ve always heard said, as goverment employee you never ever want pissed off people to write letters to elected offcials. They go ham on people who piss off their voters -
That’s a hilarious take - after you take her down in a choke hold in the middle of the intersection, the CEO pops out of the bushes and congratulates you on taking charge!!KillingTime and TripleSix Thank this.
