Fatal On I-81 In Virginia

At some 10 hours after the accident happened, traffic southbound was still backed up. It was one big mess all day long. I have my own opinion what and why it happened, but it all boils down to one factor, "being impatient".

 

I watched a Lew Thompson day cab yesterday about cause a massive chain wreck on US 63 S just south of Koshkonong, Mo.
Was a super load, escorts and all, yes they were being jerks and on the 3 lanes blocking so no one could get by, but the Thompson truck crossed into oncoming traffic across double yellow, and almost had a head on with another semi, which of course had several (3-4)cars and (2)trucks to close behind.
They had to hit the shoulder to avoid speedy.

It’s crazy out here now.

 

I have seen more and more of this type of behavior from oversize loads and their escorts

Victim identified in pileup that killed one on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County (msn.com)

 

81 is a complete fustercluck! It seems like there's a major accident daily.

 

I have tried time after time to get the headlights and taillights law here in Virginia changed from a secondary law to a primary law, all my efforts have been in vain. We went crazy over the seat belt law, but the lawmakers do not seem to care about the "lights" law.

 

Had 2 accidents just yesterday, one on 81 near Staunton and then one near Mt Crawford. I have yet to witness anyone being pulled over for anything other than speeding. Drive reckless, aggressive , no lights on in bad weather, stop on the shoulder, cut other motorists off, do anything out there on 81 but don't speed.
