Ugh. Roll in extra late this morning finally asleep around 3:30ish and someone trips off the APU on 1607 at 0700. Must feel it needs to run a bit before going OTR… but ya, thanks![]()
close the window and rolls over.

Just curious, is there an actual Federal Rule about not contacting or interrupting a Driver during their 10 hour break or is that more of a nice courtesy???
yes, I’m a bit grumpy today, why do you ask???Friend, cdavis188 and Knucklehead Thank this. -
Got the Dr visit done and verified I shouldn’t drop dead in the immediate future. Started pestering my DM when it was getting late in the day yesterday to see what the plan is. Load planners finally dropped a load about half an hour before he went home for the day. Supposed to be a preload in Plainfield, IN picking up today and live unloading in KC Monday. So the initial plan was to drop it all the KC drop lot tonight and then try to find something to keep me busy until Monday and get me in the shop and dealership then.
Called him this morning and the cupboard looked pretty empty for freight. So they were going to have me sit all weekend in KC then possibly deliver this Monday before heading North. I suggested I could pick it up and then go back through the house and then leave Sunday to get in striking distance of KC for the Monday morning delivery appointment. If I had kept my mouth shut I probably could’ve gotten a day or two of layover but that seemed kinda silly.
Discovered on the way over the camera is talking now which is suboptimal.
Got to Plainfield and the driveway was full with trucks stacked on the street going both ways. Finally got in and they struggled to find my load. Finally found it but it’s not preloaded so I am chilling in a door right now.
The ‘silver lining’ is it’ll be empty so if they wind up deadheading me to Omaha/CB we can put the trailer in the shop and get a few niggles dealt with. I was determined after all the silliness to avoid another trailer saga so I grabbed the newest wagon on the lot at Clayton… and found 3 things wrong with it. The most annoying was it sure looks like someone cut a corner off the door seal so you can see a little spot of daylight.
It also had a missing strip of caulk and the inside front corner had been crunched. Being as it was a holiday weekend and the truck was heading towards the mothership when I came out of the house I patched everything up and ran it by breakdown and they concurred with the plan of trying to get it home. If that isn’t how Monday plays Caravan is pretty darn fast and a known commodity in terms of quality.Friend, cdavis188 and Knucklehead Thank this. -
Forgot to mention, contrary to the Google reviews apparently they collected detention from Azteca milling in Evansville. It’s rare to get it on the same check as the load so that was a double good surprise.

That Daingerfield load was yanked off me before I went on duty for the day so after I delivered my last side by side to Idabel, OK, I swung down to Marshall where I'm currently in a door for a load to Bomgaars in Sioux City. Delivery appointment isn't until next Tuesday so I'm sure they'll have me drop this at a yard somewhere. If not, I'm taking a small detour to the house

So there was a truck in front of me that kept slowing down and going fast I tried to pass twice. So I decided just to hit a off ramp and stop for a second. And I pull up and there's a truck with like a Russian dude standing by it. He comes over and ask if I have a hammer that he locked his keys in his truck. And I was the first person to stop and like 2 hours
I said yeah I had a 3lbs sledgehammer. It took him a solid seven full body swings to bust the window out of a Freightliner quite impressive LOL -
Delivered my flatbed load this morning in mason city Iowa. Mothership directs me to CB to grab an empty trailer. Apparently Kawasaki is emptying the cwc Nashville warehouse and no longer using it.
So my directive is to take this empty trailer home (4 days early) and pickup a load of utvs from Nashville to bring back to TSL Omaha. (Anybody have any tips for this place?)
Also noticed the camera talking, luckily it’s very low. I think I noticed it on Tuesday and couldn’t figure out the noise as I don’t have the volume up on the tablet and the garmin is silenced as well.
Found the post on FB as well. -
I'm picking up in Nashville in the morning cwc I don't know about tsl either. Yeah the camera says following distance
