    RIP.

Regardless of all the bad press on Fed Ex.

A fellow driver does not get to say goodbye to his/her family.

    RIP.

i hope that moron gets fully charged.

and yeah, that crap happens. i was going north on the GWB, just after i paid the toll, under the second overpass, a car right smack dab in the middle lane, no one home.

not a fun thing to come up on.

The exact circumstances would make a big difference in how I viewed this incident. There seems to be an initial call to blame the driver of a "stalled vehicle" for leaving the disabled vehicle. If it's disabled, what's he supposed to do? Remain it to be killed later? Did he just move to the shoulder or did he leave the area altogether?

Sad situation, regardless, but without more information, I won't be quick to blame the car driver if he was just having some very bad luck that night.

the news report only says he left the car, in the middle of the road.

no other mention if he stayed, or walked away. since he may very well be facing charges, my best guess would be he left the scene.

Well, my guess is the original incident happened probably only moments or a minute or so before the Fedex truck happened along, otherwise there would be significant slowing of traffic. So I can't see how the car driver could have gotten far and why leave except to perhaps get to somewhere to call for help not having a cell phone and/or unable to get others to stop to call for help. Many lose there cell phone in minor crashes in the dark, unless they have it clipped on their person or pocketed at the time of the crash.

Many would be very panicked and flustered and maybe acting irrationally in such a situation unless they were totally drunk or otherwise wasted.

The news said that it hit another vehicle after the car driver fell asleep at the wheel...which means there was at least one other vehicle unless it wasn't damaged bad enough and they went for help...but at least one vehicle of the two should have had 4-ways.

My guess is there is suspected alcohol involved with one of the car drivers and this is where the "potential charges" are stemming from. If so, this will certainly change the complexion of this entire incident.
