It's sitting in my driveway right now, as I am getting it ready inside to put it to work. There is a headache rack, and will be getting chains/tarps tomorrow.
Cleaned both windshields with Windex®; inside and out, and then coated the exterior with Rainex®
If the safety director is to be believed, then I will run over into PA a few times, then head out to Chicago™.
I think the owner was trying to get me to drive one of his trucks. Telling me I will gross $4k a week with my truck, but would take home $1,200-$2,000 driving one of his. There is 1 major difference between his trucks and mine; besides this being my truck. All of his have ELD's with the box. I will be using KeepTruckin™ on a tablet, where I will manually enter all of the information, even the location, and can fix any mistakes I make on any of the lines.
Talked it over with the wife. I'll stick it out here until the baby is born, and whether or not I come back will be determined by how much I make here.
Will update on this thread as time goes on.
Finally putting it on the road

You’ll make money, you’ll have to work, just do not get complacent.

Alright,,a "White/Volvo/ GMC Road Commode". Just kidding, these were darn great trucks, just a bit of an identity crisis. I hope it has some sort of air ride as opposed to that White "Reyco" spring setup.THAT would have to go, but I think you did good, and the best part, no $4,000/mo. payments.

That's a sweet looking ride. I've always liked the look of those trucks. I ran a lot of PA to IL, any idea what you'll be hauling mainly? If I can, I'll help you out with the PA stuff. Ran a lot of copper, steel and lumber when I was a skateboarder

Congrats !
i started in 1986 with a cabover.
Had never driven a big truck before , I did have my CDL and had driver a dump truck pulling a backhoe .
i flew to ft Wayne Indiana, bought the truck , (even worse it was a lease purchase )
Hooked to a trailer and Managed to get it out of the parking lot and onto the interstate
stopped at the first big truck stop and walked into the restaurant and loudly announced I was a brand new driver and would buy a steak dinner to some old hand that would show me how to shift , drain the air tanks etc .
I was a pretty decent shade tree mechanic and was able to do most repairs myself , so I managed to do pretty well over the next few years .Coffey, Blue jeans, Speed_Drums and 11 others Thank this.
