Yeah, it’s definitely frustrating when the checks aren’t what they should be. My dad used to drive and a family friend is a retired trucker as well. They both advised me on keeping the notebook and I’m glad I did! I don’t think it’s an intentional shortage to be fair. The payroll clerk sounded honestly horrified when I called her about it, and I think the detention issue is just a system glitch they haven’t worked out yet. As long as they continue to make it right, we’re good for now. Not sure it’s a place for me long term, but definitely feel it’s a better fit for me as a rookie than going to one of the mainstream mega companies would have been. If I can get a solid 6 months to a year in with them before moving on, I’ll be happy.

To be honest, everyone at the company I’ve dealt with, from recruiting to training to safety to shop to load planners and dispatch/dms, has been top notch, with the sole exception of my assigned DM. Everyone else is amazing, very friendly and helpful. Put my truck in the shop for a leaking airbag and they volunteered two new steer tires bc “You’ll need em before winter hits. May as well do it now while you’re here.” They’ve also just made it so whenever we come into the yard, the shop guys do an inspection on the truck and trailer, then put it in the shop if it needs anything. They definitely take their safety rating seriously.

David Freymiller denies this; calls it a rumor.

Lonestar87, if you don't mind me asking, whose your dm? I had Mike when I first started, but he went back to driving. Got Nancy now an couldn't be happier. Sends me my loads an leaves me alone. Only time we talk on the phone is if something changes with the load or to check on the truck maintenance situation since I like to stay out for 5-6 weeks an don't get through Oklahoma City very often.

    Metallica88 and Lonestar87 Thank this.

What time are most or your deliveries? I like to run mostly from 1AM-7PM. Not overnight so if you do lots of 10PM appointment wouldn't work for me

RayBlaszak, each one is different. But for the most part they're within that window. Most of mine are in the morning time with a few mixed in afternoons and evenings. All depends on what time you get empty and your next load. They do love to pre assign you loads when they can. Makes it easier on you as well as them.

How's the atmosphere at Freymiller these days? Freightwaves is saying the company is on the auction block

Management is saying it's just a rumor, but who knows. Read 2 different stories in 2 different reputable magazines saying the company was up for sale. David Freymiller is denying the whole story, saying they misunderstood what he said. So will see what happens.
