Generator instead of APU

The honda 3000 is quiet and reliable. Lots of threads on it.

 

Keep in mind. Many so called or referred to as generators are not real generators. They are alternators that go through an inverter like the small Honda's. They last much longer then a true generator.

 

The Man says 'here you have a $20,000 engine that runs your truck, let me sell you this $10,000 APU that will protect your $20,000 investment. If the APU goes down, it only costs $10,000 more to replace it, see how much you saved?"

Stick it to the Man and get a generator and a small A/C unit to keep yourself cool, don't need all that dead battery slow charger and coolant heating stuff.

 

Is that diesel or gasoline?
Would gasoline generator be a problem with DOT as for carrying a container of extra gasoline?

 

I'm guessing that more then 1/2 the trucks on the road with an APU would disagree

 

Gasoline. What they don't see, won't hurt them.
