Funny. Less than 10 percent of the loads i haul are brokered. As for parking in louisville, the only time I've ever had an issue is during the week leading up to the truck show. Wprst case, drop your trailer around the corner at the inspection lot and bobtail over to the main lot. You do know security had a key to that gate and will let you in right?
Some freight is cheap, don't pull it. Simple as that. Every agent has a mixture of good freight and bad freight. Focus on the good freight and ignore the cheap, let some outside carrier pull that. Well except Miami, he only has bad freight. No such thing as good freight in Miami.
I have no problem finding good loads, even in bad areas. For example, a buck 91 out of Houston monday.
As far as getting outside loads by yourself, if that's what you want why not go to a carrier thay operates that way? This seems to be the biggest problem with new guys here, they want mercer to do things the way carrier xyz does them, and all that does is distract them from being able to learn how to make money here.
Honest Question

It amazes me how negative some people can be. If you don't like something, change it. It is seriously that simple.

That proves the case of someone. Wanting the system to be what they want it to be instead of working the. System mercer has. Its. A waste of energy. There's a reason some of us don't end up in Nebraska. It aint exactly a hotbed of freight. Moglar remember why you ended up in Nebraska, you picked the load and no one else.

Well hopefully I wasnt the one you were refering toas being negative lol. I was asked to give an opinion so .....I gave it.
As for 1.58 per mile freight to Mass.....#### right I won't do it.
Its not a matter of how carrier xyz does it. There is always room for some improvement in these days and times. If freight is lean in some areas....I have no problem looking also. No harm in that.
I actually arrived at this conclusion by talking to a lot of the drivers that been there many years.
I am hoping that this spring will be good.
Basically my point is that there should be no reason a driver has to sit in an area ripe with freight and not see any loads on the Mercer board.
Now.....if you have some wisdom you want to share message me and I will gladly give you my phone number. I don't mean that in a sarcastic way.
