Hitting the defrost works like a recorder..... Logs the temperature every time its manually activated

I used to defrost every time I stopped, about every 6 hours..Also double checked temps, engine gauges, fuel amount, etc.Things happen, and warning devices fail.

If you depend on the unit to take care of itself and never check it, or trust it to do as it supposed to and never mal-function, one of these days you will be sorry. ALWAYS check, monitor, and manually defrost a unit on a regular schedule.

I would suggest switching the refer off just before you open the doors, stop sucking outside air in the trailer when loading or unloading on LTL loads unless specified by the shipper or receiver to run continuous.

I have never done a manual defrost. I only do things that I am paid for. My wife got a second job just so she could afford to bed me.

This is why we hit defrost so temp recorded matches our temp control sheets it was required by insurance after a few claims from idiots who shut reefers off at night and weren't able to restart in minus 30 weather in the morning

####, in that kind of weather I hit continous and splash some treatment in, just in case the reefer came from the south. I don't trust those fuel lines and very exposed tank in the winter.
