I’ve pulled rocky sets before and it feels way better than twin pups. I’d think twin 48s would also pull nicely, just more difficult to maneuver when you’re off the highway.

I know with the 28’s they were pretty easy to pull, on or off highway. My main worry is just not taking turns wide enough. I think I’ll be ok tbh, guy I’m riding with the first few days has around 10 or so years of doing these. I’ll keep it updated here.

It's been a few years a-lot depends on your dolly set up.
Single axel dolly pulls ok like pups.
Now the tandems with double axel and twin pintal hooks a much more stable.
Also easier to back up should the need arise.
the wind will make them dance and adds to the pucker power.....

I think he might be referring to this.

    C-dolly ?

IIRC those are the ones they use in Canada a lot. A setup like that you can back somewhat reliably.

Rocky set is the preferred way to go in the winter time if your lead has at least 16k+ in it. Having an extra axle in the back also helps out with traction and you won't notice the pup in the back at all. I used to have to zig-zag my way around Butte, Bozeman, Billings, and Helena with this setup and even city traffic felt like nothing since the pup doesn't offtrack as badly as some people assume.

Have you ever pulled a Rocky set backwards though? That's the least amount of fun you can have with a LVC.

Nope, that was against company policy. For a good reason I’m sure.
