I use Progressive. I just got my renewal letter in the mail. Seems that I’ve had it to good for to long. Mine is going up $200 a month. Last year it dropped by $110 a month. I’ll be going into year three in October as an independent one truck one flatbed. Have any of you had any luck by letting others give your company another quote? What year were some of you at when you started seeing a significant decrease in insurance rates?
Just for clarification. I’ve had no tickets, accidents or bad inspections. $200 just seems steep to me.

The way my agent talked I would see a difference into year three.

Did you see a reduction in cost by changing?

I appreciate the feedback. $2400 a year ain’t the end of the world but I really push to keep a clean record. Hopefully I can catch a break if I have to answer some of these agents wanting to quote me a rate.

Same situation with me. First half year it was about 13k (yearly). Then it renewed for my first full year technically and went down to about 10k. Renewal came up for second year and for no reason went up to 13k. No tickets or claims like you. I had agent shop around and went with Northland. Went down to 6700.

My agent did mention that with the abysmal inflation rates, lots of policies go up even if you have a clean year. If you’re past that first couple years or authority. I think that’s bogus but lots of companies will do anything for a buck these days so it’s believable.
