Like Zig Ziegler used to say, its your attitude, not your aptitude, that can make the difference.
Sometimes being happy at work is actually a personal decision. Seems you have chosen wisely.
The naysayers are just poopy-heads.
I've already made more then last year

Ok... I'm just trying to understand the point of the thread though? Yes, I too made more than last year by $5k now $88k in 2020 (not wanting to start a pretentious trend..) but is it ever enough with inflation occurring? Groceries have gone up as much as everything else probably because of this covid-19. 2020 just seemed to have gone by faster than most other years I remember however, it's been a depressing year for most because of this pandemic. I can only pray 2021 is back to normal towards things becoming better for those who are financially struggling or have health issues etc.

It being a new year won’t change anything. The #### storm continues...

Only making 75k a year ? Gawh dawg , you need to head over to stevens transportation and start making that 150k a year . Team up with a convicted felon and make more than a doctor.

At a very different place personally but I thought I'd chime in.
I'm making on average 400 something a week after taxes and deductions at 7 months exp at my first otr commercial driving company. My highest paycheck was 790 something and my lowest was 100 something (I had two other weeks where I made 200 something ). The 790 I only got from temporarily being put on a dedicated account that had an automatic minimum pay amount regardless of the miles you ran (which was awesome and I would've loved to keep it ).
I think this is probably some sort of low watermark for the industry as a whole (I can't find any other companies that pay lower starting cpm).
Sad thing is it's still more than what I was making at any point prior in my life . My highest paying job before this one this year ? Was working at Walmart at various jobs. Id make about 600 after taxes bi weekly which would be 300 if I had been getting paid weekly like I did now .
Making 1000+ after taxes consistently would be more than enough to provide myself with a good quality of life . I'm thankful trucking finally allowed me to become fully independent adult.... But honestly id like to be able to afford my own house and car even if Im not home right that often. Eventually I want a personal place to come back to after going hard on the road for weeks at a time . I can't keep bumming at my relatives place every time I'm on hometime for the rest of my life lolNortheast Hillbilly, Badmon, spindrift and 3 others Thank this. -
