Who is stupid enough to work for K&B? you would think with all the resources a driver has, it would be impossible to not hear what everyone has been saying for years. At this point if you go and work for a company like them you deserve every bit of the crap .

they will also ask you to edit your log to create more times for deliveries. If you don’t they will remotely log into your tablet and change it for you if you have not already certified your logs,
I have caught them doing so.

they give you #### near impossible loads.
Most of which are relays.
If you over sleep and don’t wake up in time for your load expect another driver to be knocking on your door, or a drop yard employee, and sometimes even the police.
They will send people to wake you up and interrupt you on your 10 hour break to log out of your tablet so they can have you illegally relay a trailer.

for those of you who think the DOT can’t see this. I showed an officer my logs. There are other things that they can see that you cannot see in your logs.
If you lie and get caught its on you.

on the very last day of orientation they will demand that you download an app called EVVY.

it’s an app that will sense movement and will lock you out of your phone so you cannot text or use your phone while driving. Seems reasonable, until you find out that the app works even when you aren’t driving. It also collects data, and allows the company the see who you are talking to and who you are texting.

if you don’t download the app on the day you get your truck they will send you home sometimes on a bus. Or they will kick you to the curb with no way home.

The reason the company implemented this app is because a few years ago a driver was watching Netflix and driving and we ended a van killing a few people.
Later that year they had a similar incident a driver rear ending in killing a college student.

I have worked for this company for almost a year and I have thoroughly documented many of the situations with various dispatchers. I have logged and documented complaints with the fmcsa, DOT and OSHA.

for me the most damning information was when the DOT officer told me that he was familiar with K&B transportation and the trickery they try to pull on drivers.
Lastly I met a 19 year employee that said he wanted to Finish the last year with them, but because the company has changed so much and they constantly ask him to break the law to deliver loads. That he doesn’t even recognize anybody in the company anymore. He decided to retire early. Because he doesn’t want to get caught up in any legal BS.

I saw a news report of a k & b driver shut down by NYSP at a DOT checkpoint and they video’d a driver getting chewed out by dispatch for not continuing to driver.

that’s a definite red flag for me with any company. Forcing drivers to continue to run on PC is a total no-no and if a wreck happens while doing that it’s on the driver. What bunch of scumbags that place is.

Most of that like your days home is standard. It's usually a day for every week you're out. You're required to sometimes give them the off request about two weeks out. Whether they will actually get you home or not is another story in itself. As far as the $0.60 cpm and sign on bonus, I'd have to see that in writing. When I went to SRT, the first half of my sign on bonus was on my first settlement along with my orientation and FEMA runs.

When something is "too good to be true", it usually is. I can't tell you how many e-mails I've gotten for this offer in the last few years now. Like above, I'd better see this in writing. If I don't see it, it doesn't exist.

This is where I'd have to fight my dispatcher or quit the company. So even if I plan that trip to the last minute and something like construction or an unforeseen event (wreck, DOT reach around etc.) that my pay will be affected? I'm sorry so why offer it? I was on a guarantee pay back at SRT and this was never a thing. I did run into some of the aforementioned things I described and my pay was not affected. The only way I was not paid was that I didn't run.

Everything but the Personal Conveyance is standard and more often than not, useful to get the load there on time. I'm no stranger to split breaks and changing from days to nights and vice versa. My safety department would chew your ### if you used Personal Conveyance to advance that load.

And this is where I'd get the DOT and FMCSA involved. If anyone was going to swing for that violation, they would. This is especially if I have the proof of it happening.

Welcome to the sometimes stupid world of reefer. I hate when they give you something that was due yesterday and want it there today. I've had this happen a few times and somehow pulled it off. I'd relay just as I got it close enough. As far as being woken up by another driver or yard worker, if my load isn't near ready or I know my break isn't complete, they're getting an earful as are dispatch. I've had to do this a few times in recent years. I've only had one welfare check in my career. I had the stomach flu and was knocked out. A lovely officer came because he was called. I woke up to about 30 missed calls, texts and Qualcomm messages. IF they want me to log out of my tablet to move a trailer and a DOT was around, I'd have their ### on speaker phone for the officer to hear it.

Sorry. You can fire me right there. K&B does NOT pay my phone bill nor will they put any app on my phone to lock me out. You also have no right to see who I'm talking to as it's none of your ###### business.

This is a great reason to take at least $2000 (if possible) with you to orientation. Have it on a credit card and buy your own plane/bus ticket, a hotel if you need it and taxi fare to the airport/bus station.

While my heart definitely goes out to the ones lost, K&B still has no business trying to collect my phone data. Now the authorities can if the time comes, but K&B sure as hell wouldn't be.

Believe me, I've never had any interest in them. This was before seeing the 20/20 episode with RunHardGetPaid.
