Probably can't find enough buyers outside the USA...maybe VW will find the cash to refurbish these like Freightliner did a few decades ago, and replace the boat anchor engine with a Cummins.

Might be the turbo waste gate actuator is failing and causing it to dump boost all the time. This is one of the possible key cycle type of things. What codes specifically was it logging?

That’s horrible. Just horrible. Please find something more positive to say!

I pulled off the hose to the actuator and pinched it with vice grips and still acted the same. I will have to check which codes are showing active and reply

Codes I pulled are spn 691 fmi 2, 524285 14, and 2167 11. I looked up the first set and says turbo inlet sensor, and that would derate the cpu. Thinking could be that. Going to check ohms and see

The first one looks like it is coming from the body controller, and second is from the real time clock, usually a dead battery. The last number isn't in my list for anything.

Did you find what the problem is? My truck is doing the samething but I don't have the same codes.

Do you think the body controller would make it do that?

No I still have not figured out what my problem is. I did change the low turbo sensor, and that did not make a difference.

I did pitch the hose on the wastegate actuator and it did not make a difference
