Monday I'll be in slc headed up to wa for delivery on the 2nd.

Just seeing if you might be in KC. Took some advantage of the slow flat bed freight right now. Had some dental work done today here at home (i n KC). Will be here for the weekend. I try to help out some drivers if I am home in KC and they are stuck out here or laying over. Hope you get running soon.

 

Admiral Merchants allows this and also gives you the agent's cut when you find your own loads.

 

Which is what happens a lot.

 

And see that's the issue. Me and my buddy was talking about this and I had to explain to him that yea it seems cool to be able to book outside freight (and yes I wish we had that option) but being at Mercer it's very rare that you have to when you learn the system. All these guys here that's successful has done without this long.

 

I appreciate the offer, that's very kind. I have a buddy that runs out here twice a week. I may try to catch a ride with him back to my parents place while the truck is in the shop.

 

Mercer gives you the agents cut as well, but it's rare to get that opportunity here because it's not really needed.

 

So (and don't shoot me, I'm still learning here) if mercer was to allow us to book more outside loads wouldn't we kinda have to give up our instant pay? The way I understood it was that the reason we don't is because Mercer needs to insure they will be paid to be able to pay us the way they do. I could be wrong tho.

Now if we could book outside loads easier with the understanding of we get paid when Mercer gets paid or maybe with a factoring fee would be nice. But I don't see many loads on outside boards that would make this worthwhile to me on a daily basis. But occasionally....

Anyway I am sure someone will find flaws in my thinking just as I'm sure it's flawed and I'm missing something.

If you booked the load then you have to wait till mercer gets paid before they give you any money. At least that's the way I understood it from orientation.
