With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart just wanted everyone who knew Steelersjunkie to know he passed away earlier this evening. He wanted me to give one last hello and goodbye to all.

I don’t think they’re too bad but just have mega-company problems. They have both positive and negative reviews, with their size I think most drivers are just a number on a board. Bare bones trucks, governed at 64-65.
Sorry for your loss, to everyone who knew Steelersjunkie.

Don’t know where this is going but here it goes.
A little over 2 years ago I decided I needed to make a change in my life. I was working with family and the situation I was in was getting worse by the day. So I started researching my options. I needed something that had a decent starting salary from the get go. Just that requirement alone nixed almost anything I was qualified for with my limited abilities.

Its at that point I really started giving truck driving some thought. All the articles were saying there was a shortage of truck drivers, demand was only going to grow, and one could make $50,000 a year to start.
Through my research I found that I could pay for CDL training or go to a company that would train me but would require a time commitment after training to fulfill my payment obligation. I really didn’t want to go to school for 6 month community college or 4 week CDL school and be left holding an $8000 bill.
I spent countless hours researching every company that I could find that had paid CDL training and that’s when I stumbled onto TTR.
I read practically every good and bad trucking company review of companies that offered CDL training. During that time I discovered Steelerjunkies first 2 threads.

At that point I really started giving Millis serious consideration. SJ seemed like a 100% straight shooter. He may have complained at times about what was going on in school and training but through his posting it didn’t come off as whining. He was just venting like all of us do. Also the contribution of others who were replying to his threads were mainly positive.
After a couple months of research I reached out to SJ and he was willing to answer my questions. At this point I’m not going to turn this post into a Millis commercial but let’s just say after the year and a half that I have been with Millis, it’s been proven to me that Steelersjunkie was a man of his word and didn’t lie. There is good and bad at Millis but the good by far outweighs the bad.

Over the past couple of years Steelersjunkie and I have spoken on the phone complaining about our days and at times laughing at things we may have saw or heard. I had the pleasure of downing a few pints with the man on occasion. For that I am ever grateful. I will miss my friend.

    Aw man. What happened?

Some of you may already know, but reading his posts on here is what made me to decide to apply to and go with Millis in spite of already being accepted by Maverick and TMC.

I never met him in person, but this makes me incredibly sad.
dwells40, IH Truck Guy, MIT and 2 others Thank this.

Holy cow, what happened? He was one of the people I chatted with before joining Millis and appreciated his insight.

I started to bust his balls on a few posts about 2 years ago. Why hang at Millis become an O/O which he was at Landstar while there we struck up a phone friendship. I was thinking of expanding my Authority and going to charge A flat 10 percent fee. Paid after every trip. Kicker was I would provide no trailer no plates no IFTA now I would have to provide IFTA Steelers real name is Tim Y we talked a lot he didn’t like Landstar.

Well around that time the State of Wisconsin was having fits over Leased on O/O the State was going to make a rules committee on what we had to do etc. I spent about 20 grand on lawyers and the State was not giving in. Tim was pissed when I told him this wasn’t going to happen. I never did talk with him again.

I’m sad to hear of his fate. I have been told he took his own life. This is tragic. I had a brother do the same thing 7 years ago.

I hope Tim is at peace.
