    The most appropriate comeback is a nonchalant attitude, indifference, etc. They gotta get that off your truck so the hell with how they feel about it. As for these customers not being happy to see you you'll have to move past that. We are all delivering to places that are being replenished, a cycle that never stops. It ain't like you're out here delivering to dangerously famished places. Then those folks would be happy to see you. Don't let this job boost your ego too much. Remember, you're a truck driver doing a job, not a hero trying to save the day.

    Well you guys didn’t disappoint! I’ll have to go thru this again tomorrow, half day just driving back to the DC and reset most likely. That 2 hours burned in the morning screwed me on getting back tonight.

    Tell them how you work 14 hours a day without overtime pay, or 70 hours a week for straight pay. Better yet tell they your company is hiring if they need an application you can get them one. They probably won’t take that offer because they don’t want to deal everything a driver does to make the money. Every job has it good and back. Unloading a truck if your in retail like DG store is the bad part of the job. If they want more money you get them started to driving a truck just like you do making money just driving.

    Chemical tankers pay 1/2 rate for rejected/returned shipments.

    Many receivers quickly change their tune when the drivers face lights up with;

    'Good, I get paid more that way, where can I use a phone?'

    When I get this.

    OK, excellent. Save us both time. Here is the bills, write load/delivery refused. Then sign and print your name and date/time. I will have to call it in to dispatch and let them know.

    You guys are all awesome! I am so glad to have TTR buddies that are quick to set me straight and send me down the right path.

    Currently grillin a steak in the sleeper on my mini George Foreman doing a 34.

    I ended up getting sent back out straight away after that last run, and it was on a mini run which was nice. Otherwise that check was gonna be tiny.

    I found a new place to park when I’m back, planet fitness, which is really just infinitely better than DG or pilot. I missed the gym more than I thought. Nice to get some workouts in.

    It’s funny how things are, this mini run was my first time driving in very snowy conditions and it was a learning experience for sure. But all the stores were very friendly and helpful so it was not a bad day at all.

    steaks done.

    see you guys soon
