Get your class b instead and you can be working for a construction company by the end of the week. Get your bills paid and focus on the class A when your more financially stable. Hauling asphalt or construction equipment often pays better than first year OTR. Too many make the mistake of entering this industry from a position of weakness with the illussion of taking care of their family, only to find out they can barely take care of themselves for 400 a week away from home. Not saying you can't do it and be successful, just sounds like your timing is off and you needed a job yesterday. Good luck.
need a way out asap!

If you know someone with a CDL-A that will team with you, V3 Transportation will hire you both as long as you have a CDL-A Permit. Yep, they hire teams that know each other as long as one has a CDL-A and the other has a CDL-A Permit.

if you can manage to get on board in the garage at the Publix warehouse in Dacula for the fuel island position (not sure if any are open currently but they pop up on a regular basis) its probably the best CDL training in the Southeast. Paid too. Problem with this is that their hiring process is not the quickest in any way, shape, or form.

The vast majority of people seeking a CDL can attain the skills to do so with the training provided. A few need some sort of refresher and a handful need an unrealistic amount of training to obtain the skills / knowledge to obtain the skills needed. This is RARELY a school problem. This is your problem to solve with whatever means open to you. If you do not have the time or money to pay to obtain this skills, you need to take a break and then train/retrain until you can. Be advised that the skillset needed to pass a CDL test is NOTHING compared to the skills and knowledge to be a solo driver in the real world.

If you need something fast and don’t have any way to get the backing training that you need a Class B may be the best option. Check truck stops for local ads, Craigslist, or roll up to a local rock quarry or road construction company and ask if they are hiring dump truck drivers. There are also food/beverage jobs the run class B and you would be local. Does the school have a box truck you can take the test in?

This is a no brainer. You don’t belong behind the wheel of a cmv at all! Choose another profession. It is not in your blood. Choose another profession that your mind computes to. If you can’t get it by the second try it’s not for you. Although I do believe you should pass on first try. I’m not one to pat someone on the back and see keep trying. To many people out there now that are creating more regulations and high insurance rates for owner operators
