So now the trucks are in the shop every 10K, with the oil change every 40K. I don't think that's gonna be very good for the powerplants, I've noticed oil pressure drops a bit at around 26-28K as the oil breaks down. This has to be like the 12th time they've changed their minds on the maint schedule in the last 5 years.

    I miss the 15/30 days.

Its been that schedule before even I left, every 10 in for some stupid road ready and 40k for oil. Tho its stupid system as 40k is the max for Warranty issues and if you go over it more then 2 times the warranty is void. Knight is just full of stupid on this one. But this is what you get when you get people that have no idea about the industry but like to make things work on paper.

    15,000 miles/30,000 miles

Not the first time I wasn't the first to know about something, in fact I have not been told this by anyone, I just found it on a piece of paper.

Newer oil technology uses more synthetic than previous oil technology. The company I work for has Pacar MX engines and just raised their A & B mileages. A at 30k and B at 60k... And this is per Pacar's guidelines. Perhaps the engine manufacturers for your company's trucks have changed their recommend service intervals and your company is just staying up to date so their warranty stays valid.

PACCAR does that weird MPG rating, but it was showing 25/40 if below 6/above6mpg just a couple of months ago.

"A" service is a full inspection plus any warranty work that needs to be done. "B" service is full inspection, warranty and grease and lube anything that needs it. At any point you can tell the shop to fix something like I had a stuck 5th wheel that needed fixed and they did it on the A service.
