Thank you! I talked to FCC and the recruiter there said they’d hire me right out of Clement Training Institute. I was very happy about that because so many wanted at least 6 months or a year experience.

As much life experience and general trucking you've had, I'm sure the academy will be a breeze, and it's good you've got a direst line to FCC once completed.

You may be happy there, or you may find there's a few other options in your (our) area that suit your lifestyle needs better, after you've racked up some recent experience. I'm down here Joplin way, so I'm familiar with a few good outfits around.

    Best of luck.

Thank you! Awesome! I’m looking forward to doing something other than welding in construction, maintenance work or inside a plant. I hate being trapped inside a huge building for 8-12 hours. That’s the worst!!

I agree 100%, I worked in warehousing & manufacturing for 10 +years before I became a Trucker and honestly I can’t stand small talk, being trapped in a “cage” or being micromanaged on situations that are out of my control. Now it’s 15 mins of talking with Managers, get my paperwork, and then I’m off.

To me, that sounds like heaven on wheels! I hated all the backstabbing in plants and warehouses. I did my job and went home but those women went around gossiping about me trying to get me fired. It worked 75% of the time. I hated every minute of my job. If I made 1 little mistake they blew it up into some big thing when it wasn’t. Construction was better because I was outside and worked with guys, less drama. Just hated having a boss right there all day every day. Only really good thing about working construction was that I got my HVAC license for handling refrigerants for doing heating and cooling. I’m just looking forward to doing my job the best of my ability and getting paid double what I was making.
