One big thing about reefer is. Gotta dare a lumper to put his balls on that stainless steel floor after being in -10 degrees for 3 days. Kinda like a Christmas story.

I'm at Schuster. Only been back here the second time for a little over 2 months, but averaging 2800-3100 miles a week. Taking home 13-1500 dollars on average after taxes and 10% 401k.
20/hr detention
Can pick a region to opt out of such as northeast, NYC, west coast, etc. if you want
Almost all backhauls are drops and almost all pickups near HQ are drop and hook as well. Length of haul is hit or miss. Might be 500 mile loads all week or you might get 2, 2000 mile loads in a row
Great dane/thermo king reefers
Big downside is you start in an International, but they have Kenworths as well once you get a little seniority
We run to every area of the country, but upper Midwest, SoCal, and southeast are our most common lanes
Stop pay, northeast pay, NYC pay, short haul pay, etc.
No forced routing or fuel stops, but you do have to stay 'in network', but there's lots of options from multiple chains. Routing is open as long as you're being reasonable and not adding 100 miles on a 300 mile run lol.
PTO accrues from day 1, 401k matching, decent insurance prices, etc.
My favorite part is them being based out of NW Iowa means there are a lot of easy miles on all loads. Typically 4-5 hours of smooth sailing from whatever direction you're returning from
Edit: outward facing cameras only. Trucks have a GPS governor, so 3mph over the speed limit, up to 72. Carrier APU's and idle parameters are below 50 or above 70 degrees if your APU goes out while you're on the road
Edit 2: Website shows 53cpm, but most are starting higher than that now. ~60cpm+ average depending on experiences and then 6cpm in bonuses every month added, so 66cpm or so. Could be more depending on years driving and recordLast edited: Sep 19, 2024

I will say that one my past companies has a great miles and after 2 hours you get paid hourly .50cpm what I was paid but I switched to regional making .55cpm but they still would give me big runs and you made good money that way. The downside was they only will ever have one terminal. They have drop yards but they will never make another terminal just keep that in mind.
The name of the company is Freymiller they have APU and multiple color trucks eventually you get pick your favorite color like I did but starting out you get a heavy-used one which is pretty typical. I made 1100-2100 I made a policy if ice is on the road them wheels ain't spinning and its Netflix time they didn't like that answer and often times when they asked another driver to take it I find out that the driver has accident well maybe listen to your driver who ain't an idiot. Anyway, how you drive up to you but keep in mind if your person who has the accident you will be let go 100% while I who took precaution protected my CDL first and tried to help them protect their load but ultimately they chose to roll the dice they didn't fire me for my choice is bottom line I left for local work home daily.Knucklehead, Speed_Drums and Chinatown Thank this. -
