I work for Pilot and would appreciate not being called a crook. Jimmy Haslam is the crook. Not the good people that help you when you stop by. I don't blame you for not coming in because I wouldn't either. But we're not the 'crooks'.
Well unfortunately y'all gonna be painted with the same brush just for being associated with the chain, don't make it right but people are upset.
Who honestly cares? If someone is going to be that big of idiot and get angry with some kid working at a Pilot over corporate misdeeds, then I would say they are the one with a problem. What would Mr Broadbrush be doing in a Pilot/J? PFJ has competitors, go patronize them.
Yep I agree, More jobs lost to the machine, I'm getting ready to come back to OTR, Been home for a year, going stir crazy, this is the first I have heard about this, I will have to take a drive to the local Pilot to see if they have this yet, and I will let you know, I for one! will not use pilot if this is what they are doing, My guess, Flying J will do the same sense they are owned by the same people
I have yet to encounter a self-checkout at a Pilot. If I came across one I would not use it (same as if I was at a grocery store, Wal-Mart, etc). On the few occasions that I have used them at a grocery store, they are too much of a pain. Also, I am not too nuts about things that take away jobs.
C'mon now. Go ahead and wait in the 8+ person line and unless I'm stuck behind you at the pump I'll be gone and down the road.
not so...because it's been my experience with those stupid p.o.s. they mis-read or can't find the price of whatever you're buying, then you have to wait for the automated register attendant to fix it...but because they under staff these places, he/she is either cleaning showers or helping at the regular register. Once that line is cleared, then returns to fix whatever jammed your machine. At least with automated registers, you don't get most of automated registers standing around digitally chatting while only one of them checks you out...seen the human cashiers do that more than once. The new Pilot in Jasper, FL had them...the new-ish Pilot around Tonkawa, OK had them....
Lets see. I have a driver who doesn't think its right to have to scan his own product because robots are going to take all the jobs. And another who thinks someone should be paid to serve him. And another who thinks Congress should get involved and pass laws against it. All 3 of these individuals have in their pocket advanced technology that allows them to talk to their family anywhere at anytime of the day for practically no money. And they get in a vehicle that is light years ahead of vehicles 20 years ago in ride and comfort. And more than these 3 drivers complain about how the government is regulating too much of this industry and their lives. You cannot have it both ways. Either you embrace all the technology, or do like the Amish and pick a point in time and reject all technology after that point. You don't get to pick and choose. I believe there are several Amish communities that would be glad to have you join them. No electricity allowed.
