Hey so I was driving through Puyallup where there are multiple light cameras I was loaded up pretty good (33,000 lbs) and taking off from a light that just turned green before a 2nd intersection with a red light camera (which turned green at the same time) I was still accelerating through the intersection of the 2nd light when it turned yellow ( a very short green light I guess) and I saw it turn red before my cab went under the light. Will I get a red light camera ticket? If I had stopped I would have been in middle of intersection because I was still accelerating (going half the speed limit)

Is there any rules in Washington state such as if the vehicle is in the intersection when the light turns red it's not a violation?
-
Don’t worry about it. Camera tickets go to the registered owner of the vehicle, not necessarily the driver. Worst case scenario they’ll just make you pay it and call it a day.

scottied67 and HoneyBadger67 Thank this.

You can contest it if you do get ticket. They do not give you points on record

Some 10 years ago my older sister got a ticket in CA for going through a red light. The documents they mailed her showed pictures of when the light was red and the car was behind the white line where the crosswalk is. I remember she told me that if she had been inside the intersection when it turned red, she would have been legal.
If you get a ticket, I’d say fight it. There’s a good chance you can beat it, especially if you have a dash cam. -
I had a similar situation in Fife a year or so ago.
It was a big intersection, and from a stop, by the time I began to enter it had turned yellow.
Red before I finished my left turn.
I saw all the cams flash in the predawn darkness.
No Tix. I had entered the intersection prior to the red. -
Arkansas light cameras are banned for enforcement, however they do exist everywhere for years for purposes of monitoring etc.
Im on light cameras with a semi before not too often but usually so big wiping out whatever is on it back in the day. Today they are much better and can see more.
That stop line is the key. The coil is under there usually. As long that light is not red when you put a wheel on or over it....
