    Such waste-ful thinking...! :)

    A waste-ful pursuit.......:p

A waste-ful way to use your CDL...! :D

We're wasting our time thinking about this....:p

I've personally talked to drivers for refuse companies and all the ones I talked to were satisfied with the job. Said the pay is good and excellent benefits. If I had heard otherwise, wouldn't post those as recommendations.

Nah, one of my friends went to refuse hauling and made $65G his first year.

If Waste Connections in in the Yakima area, then apply there also.

Get the CDL anyway, even if you don't use it right away. It's good for the future. Keep it current by keeping your DOT physical up-to-date.

Food service, delivering food to restaurants and institutions are always hiring and many hire newbies. Beverage delivery, like soft drinks/water/beer, are usually always hiring. MOST cities have dump truck work that is home daily. Find the job before you go to CDL school. The employer may have their own CDL school or only hire newbies from certain CDL schools. Every CDL school will find someone to give you a loan for school. About half of the companies that hire newbies asl pay new-hires Tuition Reimbursement in addition to the wages.

Here are a few posts of mine for newbies to read.

Around where I live, the trailer-load waste haulers are notoriously the WORST drivers on the roads. I'm assuming most of them are not experienced, and it shows!

They're good drivers here in Las Vegas/Henderson.
