What type of reefer freight do carriers profit well from, produce, meat, etc . What’s your thoughts?

Medicine. Off the trailer in 40 minutes, reloading with bales back to Memphis asap. High dollar value loads. None of that wasting time and spinning money dealing with beef, seafood or produce. 100 gallon reefer fuel supporting 60 degrees in most seasons last a whole week if not more.

Depends on the customer... most of it pays pretty good. The specialty stuff like medicine will pay more, but bear in mind, they may need a huge cargo insurance policy, perhaps $5m or more. Difficult to stomach unless you have a fleet.

I always found the frozen is steady, produce is always a game of high or low, a real crap shoot, meat generally better than produce except occupies more time loading, and usda/Canada cfia inspections... I like the variety.. I don't do much seafood or high value medicines. 250k value maximum. Not enough loads to justify 500k+ for me.
