    Turn the truck in, make a call to the State Labor board to get some suggestions about your legal rights regarding back pay. From experience, a phone call from the State Board of Labor changes employer attitudes instantly. Way faster than lawyer letters.

    They're playing with you. Take the truck to the nearest terminal as others have said. Keep a copy of all your bills in case they mess with your check. You'll need them to prove what you were owed. If they do mess with your check file a claim with your state's Dept of Labor (or your state's equivalent) it's usually free and sometimes you even get interest or penalty wages.

    I gave two weeks notice at my first driving job. BIG mistake. I dropped my last load outside of KC on a Friday and waited for a load going back to a terminal. No load! I called dispatch and they told me the load had been cancelled and they were trying to find me another load back. Not much freight gets booked on a Friday night or a weekend. I went online and found the last flight out of OKC that I could take to make it to my new job's orientation on time and booked a seat. I calculated how much time it would take me to get to their terminal in OKC, clean out my truck and take an Uber to the airport, including an hour for pre-flight screening. I waited as long as I could. When zero hour arrived I deadheaded 350 miles to the terminal, cleaned out my truck and an hour later I was on a flight home. They still call and text asking me to come back to drive for them.

    This is exactly what I'm going through right now... down to the cities. Thank you for posting. Glad to know I'm not the only one, everyone has been helpful. Now I know for next time (if there is one)!

    Home terminal is ATL. Advised to not drop it there because it was a shared drop yard & not theirs.
    My DM refused to communicate by anything else except phone. I thought that was a red flag so I talked to HR about it, and since everyone working with me has communicated via phone & followed up either by email or QC.
    My next gig was already lined up (to start on the 3rd/4th) but I missed the date. They said they'd still work with me if I can get there by the 10th of January or I might have to wait a week or two.

    Did that many years ago did my last load dropped cleaned truck off. Have a nice day. It is "at will employment" They always want you to give 2 weeks notice to keep their operation running. When it's time to let go it's getting to stepping you're fired:eek::D. I fired them now getting to stepping :D

    If giving no notice goes badly you are getting a black mark on your DAC. I'd rather have a week of getting screwed around by one trucking company than a few years getting screwed around by DAC.
