Run time and sleep

By the way, i never did, nor have i ever used any type of drug to stay awake, or to run hard like i did. I do not drink any type of alcohol either. It was done for the shear enjoyment of the job, career, and the job. Some of it may have been due to my own ego, as in i wanted to know if it could be done.

 

Produce is such a pain in the ###. Something gets rejected for some stupid reason, then you gotta fool around and find some place to take it.

 

24/7 sleep next week when the 70 hours or 100 roughly are up. More or less.

That's the old days.

You will sleep by day when the logs tell you to, and you will sleep by night tomorrow when the logs tell you to. Subject to being interrupted by the whole world at any time.

 

I drive when I have hours to drive, until I run out of hours, or arrive at or near final. The time of day rarely matters, though I try to be careful about when I run out of hours in major metro areas.

 

Night time is the only time to run. Less cops, traffic, scales, and heat. Shorter flatbed loads used to take a good bit of the daylight to unload and reload so it was easy to drive at night. With my hopper i had no choice but to run when the places i was going were open, usually daytime for the short stuff. With the reefer now i do my best to do everything under the cover of darkness

 

Heat is why I want to run days and sleep when the sun is not directly overhead. My APU doesn't keep up if it's sunny and above 95

 

I run during the daytime, due to the better scenery in passing cars.LOL

 

I did refrigerated (reefer) transport for around 5 years all up 4 years regional and 1 year OTR it really depends on your company and how they schedule your loads, when i was on regional sometimes i'd have early morning deliveries sometimes late at night however i was home every day so late deliveries didn't matter a whole lot. When i did OTR my employer's dispatcher would always have us booked in for early morning deliveries that way we got to unload by about 11 am had enough time to reload and be out on the road by 2 pm.

 

Nights , I'm a night owl.
I can get the best night sleep a person could ask for and still be lethargic on day shift. I freaking hate day shift.
I was always up all night even as a kid as far back as I can remember.
