Fuel pump problems. Should be warranty but the killer expense was being towed 100 miles to the dealer plus arriving so late the only room available was a suite at the hotel.

If fuel pump is warranty then the tow is free. Our warranty includes unlimited tow for warranty issues.

Hopefully it will be a faster fix than mine back in December. Week and half in Flagstaff and new fuel pump, lines, filter housing, filters, and, injectors because the fuel system self destructed from a cracked o ring around the fuel filter which allowed air into the system.

No warning sounds, lights or codes thrown in the computer. Just shut off and wouldn't start again.

Just looking under the hood the only new stuff I see are new fittings on the fuel pump, but appears to be the same old fuel pump itself. Also had no check engine lights or warning before it just died in the middle of the road. It was only 2 days in the shop though, not too bad. If the tow was covered under the warranty, and the repairs too, then the most expensive thing will be the hotel suite on this one.

    MachoCyclone and CannonballAA Thank this.

If you're ever in a Freightliner, have them print out your OWL. It will give you every single thing warranty covers, limits, etc.

Heres a couple crappy scans of the OWL printed which should apply to all the '17s. There's more information in the packet than just the 3 pages here, Like date of service of the truck, build, SNs for all the parts like the DT-12 and the DD15. Ratios and wheelbase, etc. (2.85 and 230).

I've been picking up at Coca Cola all this week and they are pretty easy when it comes to how clean the trailers need to be. I've only done one actual washout this week and the rest was just a quick sweep.

But every day I've been here, there has been at least one truck get turned around because the driver didn't even make an effort to have a clean trailer. Then get upset because now they are considered late and you don't want that here.

1600 appointment on 4th of July... Shall we take bets on how many days past I'll be? Hours are for amateurs.
