First fleet tried to deliberately come over and almost hit me and then had the nerve to tell me that I don’t know how to drive my truck… He’ll be dealing with his company because I already spoke to them and they’re not too pleased and they’re pulling the video off the cameras from inside his truck off as well

I’ve always found First Fleet drivers to be an angry bunch. A horrible company to work for, there’s no doubt about that.

    Aren't they affiliated with Averett?

Well if that’s the case I may have to look into working there.

personally, I think they've over hired for the upcoming slow season and their freight projections can't support keeping this number of drivers and they don't just lay people off because that cost them in the form of unemployment insurance. It's just easier to do it this way so a certain percentage of drivers quit. Since the trucks are paid for the day they are delivered, having it sit there empty and not burning fuel is cheaper than having a driver sitting in a truckstop burning fuel waiting on a load.

as a matter of fact, they used to have a policy that if you didn’t run at least 10,000 miles a month they would write you up…

Wow, sounds like you handled that exactly right. That kind of behavior is totally uncalled for: trying to run someone off the road and then blaming you?

Good thing you contacted his company right away. Once they review that footage, he’s going to have some explaining to do.

Yeah, and we used to have a load select system so we could choose where and how hard we ran to control our own performance level, but this isn't that company anymore. Now it's an adult daycare for dementia patients who have to be reminded how to do everything except breathe and wipe ourselves (at least that's the way it feels based on how senior management does things).

I used to say breathe and walk, but both of our senior management members have reminded us how to walk on their weekly YouTube propaganda videos.
