    Anyone know if it's an issue with certain reefer / trailers they need to investigate this its the 2nd one within a month

    Looked more like a truck fire that spread to the front of the trailer. Maybe Shaffer is going to the Pilot/Flying J fire plan for equipment that needs replaced...burn it down, let insurance replace it, except, they're self insured.

    That definitely looked like a reefer fire,possibly a cracked fuel line.

    There’s a few thousand truck fires annually due to DEF. They will always be a total loss because of the combustibles used in making lightweight vehicles. That’s about 10 units per day. Statistically a large fleet like Crete could see more than a few per day.

    No worries though, it’s just the price of progress I guess. Never heard of a fatality as most fires occur while the truck is operating and they smoke for a good several minutes before becoming fully engulfed.

    Just wait til they go to an all EV fleet and they self conbust driving down the road or in a loading dock.

    TA/Petro won’t allow CNG’s into their shops. They’ll do light mechanical work outside. Probably will be the same with EV’s. I’m sure most shops take a similar stance.
