He may want to try the shaffer national fleet. I've heard switching to dry van from reefer is almost impossible unless you quit and reapply. I'm on the shaffer national and been doing OK this year. Freight seems to be getting better.

I've been doing OK with Crete. It has been a little slower the last couple of months, but I have also had to take more home time than usual. Should be back on track this month.

Question: how much is breakdown pay and how is it determined? Having a conversation with payroll and I'm getting incorrect info from it. Also, fir 1st time in 24y, having an issue getting reimbursement for motel for same incident...

    Lamborghini Owner Op Thanks this.

Once you contact your home terminal, they have 12 hours before starting breakdown pay, then I believe it’s $100/day (24 hours)

    Lamborghini Owner Op Thanks this.

Unless they offer you a recovery truck...then if you say no to that, all breakdown pay and hotel money stops.

When you say you talked to payroll, do you mean that you called or messaged your home terminal? They are the ones who do payroll. When you break down, send them a message to let them know. It seems like I got $150 a day last time the truck broke, but maybe it was only $100. Ask them, they'll tell you.

Hotels are done by breakdown. If you paid for it yourself, not sure if you'll get reimbursed without a struggle. Stay on your hone terminal to try to get it paid. I've had trouble getting reimbursed for little things in the past, seems like it slips through the cracks.

Lamborghini Owner Op and LowBeam Thank this.

One of the many reasons they have a very low risk of being bought out and taken over.
