And just like that, the white Volvo stigma lives on.

That's the kind of shabby behavior that gets the old fifth wheel released when they're not looking.

MACK E-6, kylefitzy, cdavis188 and 4 others Thank this.

One man's cheap freight is another man's profit maker. Amazing how companies like this can deposit millions in the driver's profit sharing accounts hauling 'cheap freight'.

When you've got 5000 trucks you can afford to only turn a penny per mile profit, I'm not knocking it, it is what it is, so long as they continue to provide decent pay and bennies then more power to them.

Might be hitting my usual stride finally. I had a load of peanuts out of GA that had a 1300 appointment. Got to the receiver at noon, was empty and pulling out their gate at 1245. Next load was 35 mi away and had a 1600 pick up appointment. Was pulling out their gate at 1415 Only problem was, it was a drop at Grove City WM, but had a 3/21 delivery window and couldn't deliver early, so I had to lollygag around a bit. I pulled up to the gate at 2359...and took my time finding my jacket, so at 0000.30 I was checking in. Dropped my loaded trailer and went around the entire facility, not another Shaffer on site, loaded or empty. Was told to head to the Columbus yard and look for 2 specific trailers. One was locked down because it had accident damage and the other was connected to a truck. I was tired, my logbook was tired, so I just told dispatch that I would find a trailer in the morning. By the time I bounced around that Walmart DC yard (literally) and got back to the terminal, I was down to 35 minutes in my 14.

IF I can get an empty and get loaded in a decent amount of time, I may be able to get the next load delivered before payroll cuts off. It's another drop in Gordonsville, if I do the same thing I just did and get there at midnight eastern, I will have enough time to drop-n-hook, send in my empty and scan in my paperwork before midnight central.

And a quarter put it in the air supply line to make sure the brakes don’t release…

Yes and you all earn it by being wiling to put up with the rules, the equipment and the constant change needed to have the market share at key customers. I honestly could not put up with what you folks are willing to so hats off and I’m glad they provide you with a decent living.

Or just pull his glad hand seals. A driver like that probably doesn't carry spares. And a note on his white door written in grease(and a little on the inside part of the door handle as a thank you)

It is some better over here compared to 3 years ago. Haven't had to wait one second for a load. If I could only get used to the retarded auto transmission and nanny system being stupid, it wouldn't be bad here.

    Winnyf1, cdavis188, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.

And I didn't realize until I got here that we use the same tablet as SPD, only a different eld app. I bought a 2 pack of screen protectors when SPD switched to Sam-crappa, I used one and left the other with the truck. Had I known, I could have brought it with me.
