My name is Jim Owens. I am currently writing a book about Illinois highways--from Indian trails to modern super highways. Please, if you are a trucker and travel Illinois roads, I need your information! Just tell me about your experiences on Illinois highways. Any stories or just something trivial would be welcome. Email me at jim_wns@yahoo.com Any type of info would be great. Maybe a truck stop you like (or hate) or a good or bad experience on Illinois roads. Thank you!

I'll make it quik for ya ...any road within a hundred mile radius of Chicago is to be avoided if possible.
Same for east st.louis with a little less radius .

I don't know if it's exactly what you are looking for.... but not long ago I was West bound on I-80 near Joliet, and saw a billboard North of the highway, that said "Smooth roads, brought to you by Democrats".... or something close to that with a picture the Governor on it.... this is very close to one of the absolute worst stretches of I-80 in the entire country. If I wasn't so pissed off about the contents of my cab and sleeper being violently rearranged, I probably would have laughed.

    CowboyTim and Yousername Thank this.

Welcome to Illinois, (remember when it was 55 for trucks.)

Kinda like GA, they hate trucks in their state.
I try to avoid like … like..
    Hmm time for a joke.

Chuck Norris has been exposed to coronavirus. The virus is now in quarantine for 14 days.

    CowboyTim Thanks this.
