    My name is Jim Owens. I am currently writing a book about Illinois highways--from Indian trails to modern super highways.     I'll make it quik for ya ...any road within a hundred mile radius of Chicago is to be avoided if possible.
    Same for east st.louis with a little less radius .

    I don't know if it's exactly what you are looking for.... but not long ago I was West bound on I-80 near Joliet, and saw a billboard North of the highway, that said "Smooth roads, brought to you by Democrats".... or something close to that with a picture the Governor on it.... this is very close to one of the absolute worst stretches of I-80 in the entire country. If I wasn't so pissed off about the contents of my cab and sleeper being violently rearranged, I probably would have laughed.
