I am selfish. I don’t want to be lumped in the same group as this fine human being that was parked next to me after I came out from a shower a couple days ago. (See pic below) I don’t want to be part of the lowest common denominator. The people that have issues in this industry would have issues no matter what line of work they’re in, regardless of how “United” truckers were. They will always get themselves in bad situations and then blame everyone else for choices they have made.
I was listening to Rutherford the other day and a guy called in wondering if it was legal for his boss to not pay deadhead miles. Then he went on to say that he has been working there for five years. And then he admitted he took the job without knowing how much he would be paid. And now he wants to sue because he thought it was illegal for them to not pay deadhead miles after he’s been fine with it for five years.
Anyway, best of luck uniting the lowest common denomintaor of this industry. I’m going to keep on doing what I do, it’s worked great for me these last 22 years.

That’s pretty pathetic.

Did you get a look at this sorry excuse for a so-called “driver”?fss99701, Lonesome and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -

I backed in next to a driver the other day who’s truck looked like that only to have him ask me if we were hiring.

The 10% of drivers making 75,000 at your company I wouldn't so much call them favorites.
I think I would probably call them people that know what they're doing that deliver their loads on time and nobody has to babysit them, and they probably don't cost the company money like bad drivers. -
OP, I have the perfect answer for you. Buy yourself a pre emissions truck, invest in a total engine rebuild, get your own authority and get your own loads. Then, you’ll have a reliable truck, be the boss and will control your own destiny.
Broke Down 69, Rideandrepair, 88 Alpha and 3 others Thank this.
