It seems to me that more abd more lumpers are looking for a tip. I've never tipped a lumper. I'm a company driver, so my view is it's not my cargo, nor my truck, so lumpers aren't providing me a service. Do any of you drivers ever tip a lumper?
Because I hauled so much stuff into grocery warehouses I was around lumpers several times a week. I also almost always had damaged chocolate etc. I would NEVER give a lumper money, but if they took care of me I would give them a box of chocolate. I also almost always offered them a cola or coffee. However, as others have said DO NOT tip them.
You know when you are hiking out in the state park or whatever and there are signs saying don't feed the wildlife. It's the same for lumpers. Don't tip the lumpers. They might expect a tip in the future to do what they already over charge for.
not, not ever. some lumpers work on a cash basis. some work on a 1099 some work on a W-2 it all depends on where you're at. no tipping
