.10 cent a mile for full maintenance warranty. They give you recap tires, when its time to change tires. They make a fortune off the maintenance account and the fuel .

Most people do it so that they are able to decline certain loads. But is it worth it? Maybe with a couple companies...

Most of these so called "drivers" lease trucks through mega carriers just so they can turn down loads going to the east coast or the Chicago area.

Well that's good, that means more east coast loads for you and you can stick to your home time is a privilege policy!

I see adds for either company driver or lease purchase, do they run the company drivers good and teach them the ropes of the company in case they want to move over to lease? And it looks like most of the loads are to the southern tier of states which would be nice getting out of the snow sometimes.

Try being a caretaker for a really aged parent, you may do anything to get out, it has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, between dealing with family and a forgetful person that has no gratitude and can not barely do anything, it gets so bad even lp seems like a light at the end of tunnel.

Most likely.... and if they are paid percentage they're missing out on the money those east coast bound loads pay.

Not a good place for a company driver.
    They prefer you lease.
You'll get all the left over garbage loads the leased drivers
    Don't want.
You'll swap loads continueosly. Sometimes 2 or 3 times
    in a day.

Don't know where you got the mostly southeast running
    Lanes from.
They're biggest accounts are out of California and
The northwest. They go everywhere now.

If you hire on as a company driver be prepared to
Go to the northeast and northwest. But don't expect
To get those 2000 miles back to ok city.

    They've got drop yards everywhere.
You'll come 4 to 5 hundred miles out of either place then swap Your load with a leased driver.
So he doesn't have to pay the tolls or high price
    Of fuel.
In other word you'll do all the #### work.
You'll run like this till it's time for you to go home.

    You heard it here first.

Sooo according to the masses nobody every secedes with a lease purchase, but yet some companies have owners who bought one through lease and added and added till they have 3 or 4 trucks. All purchased through the lease purchase program. Just wondering if a whole lot of what's said on here is from drivers who have no experience managing money or drivers who spend it before they make it and have families they leave and they spend it and leave the drivers on the road broke and when they go home the money's gone. Truck drivers are notorious for living above their means. Most companies find it unbelievable when a driver says they don't have to have a million miles a week to live on and have what they own paid off or can manage to pay their bills on flipping burger pay. Worst thing about truck driving is sooo many drivers can only drive trucks, they have no other skills to manage their money, time, etc.
