I see a GPS screen telling me to go straight.
JSanborn103, MACK E-6, austinmike and 9 others Thank this. -
My GPS said right before I went under “Ding Ding Ding Low Vertical Clearance Ahead, Turn Back Now!!”
then when I went underneath, it quit navigating.
Had to reload it.
Guess it thought we were going to dir and it didn’t want any more part in it.MACK E-6, Geekonthestreet, InTooDeep and 6 others Thank this. -
It depends. If I am in the state of NY, I don't worry about it. If I am around the Chicagoland area, I go under it slowly with my eyes closed and listen for the scraaaaaaape.
Trucker Paul, recieverman09, austinmike and 9 others Thank this. -
Was in Tennessee.
MACK E-6, BennysPennys and baha Thank this. -
I start by cleaning my windshield so I can see the sign…

Doesn't apply to me, I'm a tanker yanker.
I can clear 11' 7".Geekonthestreet, tscottme, stuckinthemud and 9 others Thank this. -
Unless I'm empty or not loaded very talI I avoid that one.. Transit damage in my line of work gets expensive quickly. Hauling cars isn't like pulling a freight box around you have to actually think ahead and know your routes...Worse case scenario I call the dealer and ask "any low clearances I need to worry about I'm running a little tall this trip" ?? Point being I'm already well aware of that bridge or anything that is a low clearance hazard.

Dump your bags, drop a gear, and mash that skinny pedal....
Wasted Thyme, Espressolane, prostartom and 6 others Thank this. -
You shouldn't be seeing that sign. If you've never been there before, call the shipper or receiver and ask..... "the shipping/receiving department"......... the best route to get there.
Dont just ask the lady who answers the phone. They tell you how "THEY" get to work... not how "YOU' need to get there. That's when you see those signs in your picture. Ask the people who know how to give directions for big trucks.
Or ask one of your codrivers who has been there before. That's where I start..
