What set point? What mode? What outside temperature? Is going through defrost cycles that you're hearing?

Our company has some newer Carriers, and on cycle sentry mode or whatever it's called, it wakes me up.... I want my TK back....
bzinger Thanks this. -
I know right? They rev up like a dying cat almost like theyare gonna choke themselves out. i feel bad for my neighbors, not too bad, afterall I park all by myself, it is their own fault for parking right next to me.
Shock Therapy and bzinger Thank this. -
Yes. That's the big drawback of working here. It's an all Carrier fleet and APU's too. That said, they seem to be more reliable (problem free) than TK's
bzinger Thanks this. -
In my 10+ months, I've only had one TK crap out on me. Alternator died, and took the battery with it. Other than that, zero issues.bzinger Thanks this.

I've had 3 of these new carriers lately and they all sound like they are running out of fuel .

26 degrees on continuous and not in defrost , outside temp about 30 ish .

Carriers have distributed ECMs throughout the system that control certain aspects of heating, cooling, evaporators, and condenser. All of these report back to the main ECM which tells the motor what to do to maintain maximum efficiency. That is why it goes up and down so much. The new Precedent is a diesel electric hybrid and the motor direct drives the compressor and a generator. Still very efficient but instead of distributed electronics it is the generator that modulates and not the motor itself.

Seems a little odd for it to run like that under those settings and conditions. Is it maybe a "warm fresh meat" load? These can sometimes take 24-36 hours to stabilize.
