A lot went wrong the last 3.5 weeks, not my usual Cali runs, only once, two times to TX (I hate TX) and one trip to Ohio. Tire blowout in TX, leaking fuel tank in Indiana, generator of the APU went bad in Cali. no more AC. Got the generator replaced today in Omaha, had to idle for one week to stay cool, fortunately I can idle whenever It's necessary
Time to go home again to relax a few days. Still managed to make 10,000+ miles till today with all the breakdowns in 3.5 weeks (got paid a few layovers for the mess I had).![]()

Had a steer tire blowout last Monday on I-80 near Winnemucca NV, speed was 70 mph.
Was on the phone with my wife when it happened, you here me talking in the background in German in the video. Just wanted to pass another truck as it happened, fortunately I was still a few feet behind and not beside. I didn't touch the brake, just pulled to the shoulder and let her roll, as I was pretty slow I braked with the trailer brake.
Took out airline to the brake, inner fender, coolant lines to DPF and fairing.
Was sitting on the shoulder for about 4 hrs. TA in Mill City was fortunately only 12 miles away.
Meanwhile I'm back from California and sitting on the yard, caught a bad cold two days ago and relax now till Monday morning, have an appointment at Volvo to fix the truck.

What brand of tire? How many miles & how old was it?The Kraut, bzinger and Oldironfan Thank this.

It was a Yokohama. Can't tell you how old it was, got them used about two months ago as I had a flat, were installed in our shop, they were from another truck from us. They were not too old, looked pretty good. My truck will be sold in a few months and they didn't want to put new tires on. Now I have two new Bridgestone
