And if you think that paper is worth the paper it's printed on... Well I have an ocean front property to sell in Arizona.

    Maybe, but it beats nothing.
If you can get the officer to sign it.

I guess I’ll throw this in since a lot of the anti-eld crowd has trouble getting it through their thick skulls. As of this coming spring it’ll mark 8 years I have been running under e-logs, with different companies. One had the older people-net system, the rest including where I work now have been QualComm. I’ve only been inspected 4 times since starting on them and only two of them even gave my logs so much as a glance, just the number of hours I had left under each rule. Each inspection went quickly where years ago under the paper logs it took longer than that where they scoured each page looking for something to hang me on. I’ve only been OOS once, and that was when I had a measly 15 minutes left when the NY trooper got me coming through the toll booth to camp out in the petro. Luckily I wasn’t fined because I was about to shut down, but he did mark me as over my 70... even though I was showing a “legal” log up to that exit.

Every one of the companies I’ve been with that had or have the ELD’s went to them voluntarily. The main reason being the CSA HOS category was still quite high, and the liability in any lawsuits that could come up if an accident occurred. Once they switched to E-logs the numbers came down and there was a lot less to deal with from the scales.

I suppose you’ve noticed by now those big billboards featuring ads by big name “we sue truckers” law firms(one even calls himself “the hammer”)? I hate to be the one to say this again, but compared to the DOT, these ambulance chasers are an absolute nightmare if you’re in an accident and that paper log so much as show the slightest thing out of wack. They can subpoena all data from wherever messaging system your company uses, ez pass transponders, maybe even your gps. All it takes is that ####### to get the jury on his side for one little violation and he will take EVERYTHING from you, and even put your company in financial jeopardy. Have I got your attention now? The OP is correct. The days of running outlaw are gone, PERIOD. I dislike FMCSA as much as any one else(completely incompetent imho), but this industry, THE WHOLE ENTIRE INDUSTRY had this coming for a long time and failed to prepare for it.

I'd like one of those ambulance chasing lawyers to represent me!

I went to bed last night with a perfectly legal logbook and woke up to a string of violations.

"Data corruption" they say, "we'll fix it" they say.

I'm losing a DAY of income, hours of productivity, and what few hairs remain on my head over YOUR "oopsie!".

Where's my lawyer to get my $200-300 BACK from these dot-com nimrods who probably make more money selling my data to advertisers than I make for 14 hours of inner city pick up and delivery!?!
