Anyone know where can I get winch bar extension or what is there available? I'm securing snap binders and sometimes they need more umpph to close them and I just don't have enough energy left in me to do so.

    CAXPT and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I use a regular winch bar that's been sawed off at the end. It's now a cheater bar. Not sure if that what you mean.

I used an old metal pipe stake cut down some… heavy as heck but it works great.

Adjust the chains until you don't need a cheater bar to make them tight. What are you trying to do? Break the chains? How are you going to get them off? Bring a torch? Using a cheater bar is a good way to make a heavy deadly projectile when it slips out of your hands.

I just carrried two winch bars and hooked them together.

Always good to have a spare anyway.

A chain link fence post cut down to about 3 ft. works great. Got a truck issued to me one time and this was in the tool box.

I'll second that suggestion. Learned my lesson the first time it happened to me. Since then, I've used them properly without injury or damage. At best, your weight should be all you need to apply to bring it down from a flatbed height. Step, maybe you stand on it, though that's pretty dangerous, too. 90 degrees from the load and snug...and then close it.
