Ironic you started this thread on June 26. This coming Wednesday this thread will be one month old and will probably mark the final demise of my company.

    Guys.... It's over.

The court has ruled in favour of Teamster. We will go on strike.

Taking a break and when I read this, the next song on the radio was John Fogerty and co. singing Bad Moon Rising

Imo, the judge got it right. It’s a labour dispute between two parties.

yup, even though we all "knew" Yellow was tanking, the mucked up Teamsters still had to pull a bonehead thing like this..??

i only worked for 1 union company (non Teamsters) and frankly i never really like them.

i survived all my years very well indeed.

y'all can thank the Teamsters for the death null

what did they (the Teamsters) think they were actually gonna get any money for you guys..???

i'll bet you dollars to donuts, ALL the teamster board members and business agents, will sleep soundly tonight, while the rest of you scramble for jobs.

I'm kind of on both sides.
On one side I think its silly to strike yourself out of a job largely because you don't want to do dock work.
On the other side, the Teamsters are right.......Yellow mismanagement put them in the position they are in today.....not to mention DECADES of legacy mismanagement. Yellow owns every bit of this. Yellow put Yellow out of business.
Frankly, it was only a matter of time. As it turns out, the time was now.
I wish the best for all. It's not just the Teamsters who are going to loose their jobs. There's a lot of good people in clerical and supervisory rolls that will be out of a job as well.
    Good luck to all.

I understand the need to strike in a way due to the loss of benefits, but what can possibly be gained at this point?

    I feel for ya.

the union nailed that coffin shut. yes Yellow was screwing up for decades, but in all frankness what did they (the union) think they were actually going to get out of it...??? money..for the workers...??? membership dues..???

Yup. It's supposed to be well over 90° next week. What difference does it make?

By the way, my day just got worse. I am officially working my last four hours as a Holland employee.
