Sorry man that does suck. Hopefully you had something lined up for next week or after. I think everyone pretty much knew it was gonna happen no matter what.

I believe so.....strike, no. Layoff, yes. But, if you're laid off today and strike on Monday, I guess you're on strike.

JoeyJunk, bzinger and Oxbow Thank this.

I sold all of my vacation time back to the company a number of months ago. I knew how this would end.

The layoff is a gift from a decent employer who knew the strike was inevitable and you’d be screwed outta any $$$$
As for y’all complaining bout this
Definitely right choice....Yellows demise is inevitable The jobs were never gonna be saved and asking people to work with No benefits is wrong.... This allows everyone a chance to move on from a sinking ship.,,harsh as it is
There’s gonna be plenty of work for the Yellow folks who don’t put in their papers as many will
That market share of freight is still out there and it’s gonna be covered and the 1/2 dozen remaining National ltls are gonna need help
Besides the contract negotiations with UPS are heated at best and a case the Inion can win
    This shows they aren’t bluffing
