And the award for worst team driver of the year goes too… Carl Scott! He’s won an all-expenses paid trip to a federal penitentiary where he’ll probably be serving time for assault and false imprisonment. The charges were filed after an argument with his co-driver escalated to blows and he shut her in the sleeper.
The victim, 41-year-old Loria Rogers told police that she and Scott had just delivered a load in Knoxville, TN and were getting set to leave when the fight broke out.
“The male asked the female to drive when they left Knoxville. Apparently, it was not her turn to drive and she asked for a few minutes to get prepared,” said a spokesman for the Knoxville police. “According to the female victim, that’s when the male turned on her and began to assault her. She was actually, at one point, put in a headlock and was unconscious.”
While unconscious, Scott put her in the sleeper berth and continued driving. Rogers, who told police that she was afraid for her life, emailed a friend asking for help. The friend contacted the police who were then able to stop the truck near the Georgia border.
When the police found Rogers, she had marks on her face and neck. They placed Scott under arrest on suspicion of false imprisonment.
This is just another reminder that making sure you’re paired up with a compatible co-driver is of the utmost importance. You’ll be spending more time with this person than any other person in the world for the foreseeable future, so if you can’t get along, those miles are going to be a whole lot longer.

@Leaveit: How can you possibly make that type of statement based on this article? I will agree 100%, that based on what I read, I would agree, but I am aware that there is more to this story. If there wasn’t, then there would be no need for a court appearence, now would there? The truth ALWAYS has 3 sides, his, hers, and the real! (can be read as; yours, mine, and the real!)
