Generally when truckers have to deal with a product recall, it’s something small. A windshield wiper with a tendency to fly off, a battery that loses its charge faster than advertised, or a radiator that’s ever on the fritz. Sometimes it can be a bigger deal like an engine malfunction, but very rarely is a recall issued for a whole vehicle, fresh from the manufacturer.
The issue here is in fact a small one, very small in fact; it can fit in the palm of your hand.
Volvo has issued a recall for 23,000 trucks who may have trouble braking since they lack a redundant clutch disengagement switch. The issue effects models from 2007-2014 on certain VAH, VHD, VNL, VNM, or VT model trucks.
The recall notice that was published stated that the recall would begin on August 25th. Volvo is still working on a fix for the issue, but says that driving a vehicle that a recall notice was issued for could be dangerous.
If you have a Volvo, check the list of recalled vehicles to see if your rig could be at risk. The recall number is RVXX1303. If you do have an issue, call Volvo at 336-393-2000.

And the recall won’t begin for more than a month? Don’t news outlets have enough fodder for the claim of “dangerous trucks” already without waiting that long for a recall about a known problem? How about taking the trucks back to the dealers NOW and getting a loaner until the recalled trucks are fixed? Who will be held responsible, at least financially, for any “incidents” resulting from this known problem?

Ill take a volvo D16 against any lil Pete or Kenny. Stay blind my friend.
CAT quit cause they cant engineer a smog compliant motor anyway and Cummins are actually available in the Volvo’s to satisfy your type.
