A lucky truck driver became $2.2 million richer after he purchased a winning Maryland lottery ticket on Christmas day, which is incredible by itself, but even more incredible is that this isn’t the first time he’s won!
The unidentified trucker won a smaller $250,000 prize almost ten years ago and used the money to put a down payment on a house. This time he’s hoping to pay off his mortgage, take a vacation, and put some money into savings for his children.
“I was here in 2005 when I won a $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions prize,” he told Lottery officials. “It’s great to be back.”
Congrats, driver!

By the time he loses the taxes on that win, he sure can’t afford to retire for long.

$250K for a DOWN-PAYMENT on a house!!??? Jeezopete!! How big is his friggin house?!!

He’ll keep over a million of that. One-million is still probably enough to retire on if you live frugally.

Here in Australia, lottery winnings are tax-free. So what you win is what you keep.
The lottery company pays the tax before calculating the winning dividends.
