A motorcyclist has told authorities that he didn’t intend to hurt the trucker who he opened fire at during a road rage incident.
Allen Shotko was driving his rig through a construction zone on I-94 heading east in Michigan when he first noticed the motorcyclist. The man allegedly pulled a pistol out of his coat and began firing.
After pulling his truck over to the side of the road, Shotko called 911 and gave them a description of his attacker. Just a few miles down the road, police arrested Trenton Norris and found a loaded .40 caliber pistol on him.
Norris told police that he was angry with Shotko for cutting him off in the construction zone and admitted to firing at him, but claimed that he had no intention of hurting him.
Authorities found at least one bullet which had struck the radiator of the truck.
Norris has been charged with assault to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm from a motor vehicle, and carrying a concealed weapon.
No one was injured in the incident.

What was the punishment?
Motorcycle should be taken. License should be taken. Gun should be taken and a year in jail to think about your utter stupidity and inconsideration. What a moron!
A year? 10 to 15 would be more appropriate.
Year fo shuting at peopple? We have only one life. Atleast 10 years. That one bullet in radiator could be in the drivers head.
More like 5 years for missing the target so to say. With all of the gun violence it is time for harsher penalties for those who use a firearm in the commission of a crime.
And what, did Mr. Norris believe that a bouquet of roses would pop out the end of his weapon? How have we become a society that can’t get our brain in gear before we act. I believe in the 2nd amendment, but if you can’t get your head out the dark and unsanitary place before you act, you should lose those rights. I am glad that Mr. Shotko and any other people on the road that day were not injured.
I bet in reality the truck driver didn’t cut him off at all He just felt he did I change lanes often and feel I leave pleat of room but still get flipped off by people
Likely more often than not that it’s simply because you got in their hurried (speeding) way.
Yeah I got flipped off by a 4 wheeler apparently pissed off for at a secondary highway split, he’ll I had 44,500 pds in the box, the speed limit was reduced and the idiot wants to ride a narrowing shoulder. I just let him flip the bird, get angry and didn’t look at him. Wish a state trooper would have been hiding at that split.
They are notflipping you off . They are letting you know that you are the #1 driver on the road at present .
Mean while the trucker was charged with attempted murder for “cutting him off” and almost running him over because trucks are big and scary and always at fault……
One more Gun toting moron off the road!!! Yaaayy!!
good thing he wasn’t a truck driver with a fuse that short.
His last name is shotko? This was bound to happen.
That’s funny. ??
?
Hello. I really pray this motorcyclist does time. 40 calibre is enough to ricochet right through the dashboard, into the driver. If the motorcyclist continues being so reckless, he will kill himself on that motorcycle. The insanity of this act of road rage in a construction zone where there may be other innocent workers within range, and committing the act in the first place like a Hollywood motorcycle hitman, questions his right to bear arms. The motorcyclist is out of touch with reality.
“I didn’t mean to hurt him” wth did he think could happen. I have no patience for idiots like this. He intended to do harm to that driver and his truck now he can pay the price for his actions
Truck driver was at fault they always cutting folks off
So that gives him a reason to shoot a gun at the trk…seriously?
In construction zones the road can be covered with sand and gravel. Driving a motorcycle on sand or gravel over pavement is like riding on ball ball bearings.
Give more space to motorcycles in construction zones. They will likely reduce speed dramatically. I believe that the truck was too close for comfort. Merging before construction can be annoying. Many motorcyclist carry guns. Any contact with a motorcycle cause cause death to either the truck driver or the motorcyclist.
An accident involving a death is a waste of time regardless of who is at fault.
Hey Peter, while you’re trying to lecture us all about the hazards of riding a motorcycle in a construction zone, have you cosidered the fact that using a firearm in the manner in which Trenton Norris has used it, it is undoubtedly a criminal action?
Further, Norris (the biker) has accused Shotko (the trucker) of “cutting him off”, right? That implies that the tryck was changing lanes in front of the motorcycle, riht? Then maybe the motorcycle was traveling at a higher speed than the truck in that construction zone where you’ve mentioned that it is like “riding on ball bearings balls” and Norris is once again in the wrong for not slowing down in such a dangerous situation, right?
Maybe we’re dealing with a schmuck biker who thinks that the world is his and he’ll shoot anyone that happens to be in his way.
I hope that Trenton Norris gets at least 10 yers in the penitentiary, but I’m afraid that he might just be going back to a place which he’s comfortable and used to!
I’m with you on that Floyd, his is a little more to add to that.I don’t care what state you’re in anytime you approach a construction zone these damn 4wheelers think they have to speed up to try and beat a truck and other motorists into the zone for fear of having to go slower the posted speed limit.they think they will lose valuable time going thru it when in fact in a 10 mile stretch they may lose about 30 seconds or less over all.the driver of that truck needs to make an example of the cyclist by putting pressure the prosecutor and the courts for serious jail time(5-10yrs)for brandishing and discharging a fire arm in public.the charges should be attempted murder or attempted manslaughter and that driver NEEDS to push for these charges.
I just wanted to know, when circumstances, issues or a problem or a situation like this happens, do we have to log it? Lol. If so, is that on line three or four? Probably three since they were driving huh. Lol.
If the driver stopped where the police had caught the lowlife, all time spent there should be on line 4 since he would still be “On Duty” but “Not Driving”. The time spent calling the incident in should be logged the same way for the same reasons.
Also wanted to add this is not the same results for every truck driver ppl. Smh they probably not going to make an example of this guy to let others know that there is NO excuse for this type of behavior. It is unexceptible period. That driver could’ve had a kid in the truck with him. BTW if he had no intention of harming the driver why did he pull out the F/n gun. Guns were made for one reason regardless his intent. Need I say that a lot of mercy was shown towards a man w/ a loaded gun that just took shots at innocent ppl. Hmm?
Yeah they probably had their hands full with making sure truckers are healthy, not driving fast, truck has Electric logs etc.
This used to be called attempted murder.
As a driver, I NEVER cut others too close and ALWAYS choose braking to jumping over on top of somebody….. In my car I’ve been victimized by numerous truckers that think it’s preferable to run a smaller vehicle into the median rather than slowing down for the truck they are closing on and allowing the vehicle next to them to go on by and vacate the lane for them……Pull this crap on me when I’m on my motorcycle, and I’ll see you in handcuffs for attempted murder!
AzDon, question for you. Would you be one of those bikers that sees how close they can ride the zipper as you pass a semi? Never have understood why some bikers that ride bunched up with other bikers will see just how close they can brush by my steps while passing me, hauling ass. Is it some kind of “macho” thing to prove your “no fear factor” to your buds? I don’t know man, but one day one of these fearless fools on two wheels with there “I’m tougher than steel rocker panel insignias” is gonna “slip” and then right under my steps, fuel tank & then driver side rears they will go. Then no one will have a chance to look twice & save a life.
If you are on an onramp, merging onto a freeway, it is your burden to be at freeway speed by the end of the ramp in order to merge. You either merge in front, or merge behind. We are not obliged to run a passing vehicle onto the median while you take your sweet time to make the decision to merge. It is your burden to merge. In front, behind or the ditch. Your decision.
Didn’t want to hurt him? So what would the moto rider have said if he hit a bump at exactly the wrong time and instead of hitting the radiator the shot hit 2 feet higher?
No need to cry the now… you was a bad man with the gun, at least he thought he was..a gun makes stupid people feel powerful.I have plenty of guns but i’am not stupid..I’ll used them when I really need too.
