A trucker is facing felony charges for trying to get back at his boss after an argument by allegedly taking apart and selling his truck piece by piece.
Rusty Wayne Davis drove for Pro Resources, LLC, a carrier based out of Ft. Worth, TX. According to authorities, after a disagreement with his boss, Davis began taking apart his truck. He then sold various pieces to different auto dealers in New Market, TN.
Once the truck was reported missing, authorities got an anonymous tip that the 2012 Peterbilt could have ended up in New Market.
By the time authorities caught up with him, Davis had allegedly gotten rid of the engine, the transmission, and multiple other parts of the truck and trailer which – when whole – was valued at around $200,000.
Davis was indicted on Monday on charges of theft over $60,000 and vandalism over $60,000.

Im sure the boss did not pay him or something like that, I have seen drivers selling tires to collect money, nothing new here
Roland says
That’s why companies should never cheat their drivers, they will get their money one way or another!!

Sounds like what happens when one bites the hand that feeds..treat us like garbage, you get what you get..

One simple solution to a delema like this. The driver can place a mechanics lien on the truck for unpaid wages. Then tell the owner to pay up, or it will be reported As wage theft to the labor department. I’m sure his boss would not want that investigation.
Rodney says
Not a mechanic lean
U put a drivers lean against truck and trailer that way.u keep truck til paid but with mechanics lean he can get truck back and can hold off paying u until he sells the truck
zee says
He’s not covered by state labor departments. He has an interstate license so either a federal court for reimbursement or the local county
or city/district court where he must file a small or large claim.
Good luck with that!
Intrastate is another whole ballgame.

Theft is still theft, there were legal ways to get any money owed to the driver. I have been ticked off a time or to at my company, but I never stooped this low. Now the driver will rightfully so be incarcerated. Think first! Two wrongs do not make a right.

I found out about guy that was loading me was stealing money. On a trip from Laredo to Buffalo 1400 stolen. Plus 7% for him out of price that I was told I’m going for. My company my cargo insurance. So I was thinking of some type of vandalism done to his equipment. I worked with him for around 2 years, and I didn’t know how much he stole. I just found out about this last load. Guy on the dock next to me just happened to be best friend with one of the brokers dispatches. Working with him for over 8 years. Texted my load number and in 5 minutes I knew how much my load was sold for. So I wanted a revenge but bibble says “Give room for Gods anger, don’t pay back to your enemys”
Romans 12:17… And below to verse 21. Very perfect place for this life situation. Gives perfect instruction, and works 100% proves ones more that God’s law is working today. I did nothing to guy just went to another company. He lost over 20 owner ops, lost all trux but one old junk that he drives by him self under someone sighns, he’s company got closed, lost 400,000$ home, boat, cars and most important he lost Health and wife, and has some serious health issues. And I feel sorry for him. But God knows for sure how much sweat and blood he drunk from all those owners and gives him a pay back. And in this pay back you can see God’s love. God is teaching him not to steal while he is allive, so he don’t die in this sin and don’t go to Hell. Conclusion. If you are stupid to God’s word which is God’s instruction for this life, it’s to bad for you. Father will teach you one way or another. And way to bad if you chose to be staburn you might end up in Hell anyways. After life full of problems.

Everybody assumes the driver wasnt simply butthurt over not getting paid to trash around a truckstop or decided not to turn in logs but still expecting to get paid.
No matter the reason he sure fixed his boss…he gets felonies on his criminal record, probable prison time, will not be able to find another job once this hits his dac, have to pay restitution whild his boss will get a fat insurance check to replace the stolen truck
Rob says
That’s precisely why the part vendors created a serial number system for the major components. They will track you down and anyone with the proper knowledge can access the data. Maybe not an air conditioner or a wiper blade, but you know a transmission, engine, axles and chassis are going to be marked and inventoried.
The assets are protecting their asses!

Glory for the moment but it’s short lived
I hate that he lost his cool and actually carried it out. I have been there but realized it wasn’t worth it in the end. Shady companies always get what they deserve. The o/o that screwed me and other drivers lost all his dependable drivers and got a bunch of slackers and was shut down by DOT for log violations and various other infractions

Im sure they cheated him on his mileage or money owe, these company thinks they could get away by cheating drivers , thats why this happens , hope this will teach company treat driver right and dont cheat them , because we will know.:)
