Seven drivers in New York are at a loss as to who targeted them for an overnight arson raid and why. Their trucks were all broken in to and set ablaze with fires that turned their cabs into smoldering wreckage.
It was initially considered to be a possibility that the arson was just random acts of “neighborhood horseplay” – as the New York Post put it – in a rough area of Brooklyn. Now however, investigators are saying that there may be an “internal beef” which is prompting the arsons.
All of the arsons took place between 2:30am and 3:30am on Sunday.
In the past two months, 17 truck cabs have been set on fire in the same area in Brooklyn. Five of the trucks targeted most recently were run by owner-operators hired out by TTS Trucking of Newark to haul waste from New York to Pennsylvania.
One of the owner-operators, Ricardo Caballan, says that this is actually the second time that one of his trucks has been burned, but he has no idea why he has been targeted.
Investigators are reviewing security camera footage from the area to try and find a suspect, but as of now, authorities are at a loss.

Someone from the local teamster outfit isn’t happy about the independent drivers/contractors. All non Union outfits and drivers should stay out of the Burroughs. Not a friendly place without a union card in your pocket.

Well u know new York is not truck friendly. I been up there few times and they hate it..there’s even bridges that are marked 13.1.or 3 .
And they r actually 13.6. So trucks won’t go that way..new jersey not bad
